Showers and Sunshine!

This morning West Ouachita threw Hudson Wade a baby shower! He got many things that he needed and lots of cute clothes!! He got lots of toys too and some cute little teethers. Everyone ooed and aaahhed over how cute my handsome little angel is and daddy got to show off his family at work today!
When Matt came home from work we spent some time in the sunshine and worked in our flowerbeds while Hudson Wade sat in his bouncer in the shade. He loves being outside! Sometimes when he is fussy we go for a walk around the neighborhood together. The sun was very bright today so Mommy let him borrow her sunglasses.

One Month Milestones!

Tomorrow Hudson will be one month old! Wow! I can't believe how fast this came!
Today was his one month check-up. He now weighs 8 lb 9 oz! He did so great at his appointment today! He only wimpered a little the while time! I'm so proud of him!
His colic seems to be better. I switched his bottles from Playtex Drop Ins to Dr. Brown's Natural Flow and changed his formula from Enfamil Premium to Enfamil Lipil and that has made a difference. Last night was still kinda rough though! Dr. Stanley wrote him a prescription for some Colic drops so hopefully things will be much easier tonight!
Some time this week, Matt and I are going to buy him an Easter basket! We will probably fill it with things for our summer vaca to Florida with Matt's family in July.
Here are some ideas I've come up with for his Easter basket:

1. Sunscreen!
2. Sunglasses! Probably these ones from old navy:

3. Baby floaty for the pool!
4. A beach towel!
5. Some bubbles! Every baby likes bubbles!

It's gonna be so much fun making him his first Easter basket!

Here are a couple of pics I took today. Hudson was laying in my lap and I was playing Patty Cake with him and tickling him. He is beginning to learn how to play!

Three Magic Touches

So Hudson Wade has been colicy lately :( and anyone whos ever had a colicy baby knows how exhausting it can be for mommy and baby! There seems to only be 3 things that calm him down and distract him from his hurting belly when nothing else works!

1. A ride in the car.
Today, after trying almost everything else, I finally buckled him in and we went for a ride to Smoothy King where I ordered a much needed Strawberry Kiwi Breeze to take the edge off! Sure enough, he was asleep in only a few minutes!

2. A Warm Bath!!!
Hudson Wade loves bath time! He isn't quite yet to the point of playing in the water but he sure does like to relax in it. Who doesn't, really? He sometimes even falls asleep when I wash his hair! It's so cute!

3. Last but not least:
Above all other kinds of lullabys, worship music I his favorite! Some of our favorites include Draw Me Close to You, Lord Im Amazed By You, The More I Seek You and Hillsong's In Your Freedom. He falls asleep to the sounds of worship music each night. The presence of God is so soothing for the both of us... Especially after a long day of dealing with colic!

I will leave you with one cute thing that Hudson Wade did today. I was holding him and he sneezed and when I looked down at him he had a big grin on his face. He is beginning to smile not only in his sleep (which makes my heart melt) but also while he is awake and alert!
