Great Times with a Great Grandpa!

Today was my Pappaw's 64th birthday. He had chemo all day today so we bought him some Popsicles for when he gets sick. He played with Hudson Wade and talked to him about all kinds of stuff. It was the sweetest thing! He is so proud of his great grandson! And Hudson Wade adores his Pappaw!

Dirt Cheap and Faster then Weeds!

Last Thursday Dirt Cheap openned up in Monroe. I spent $123 on Thursday and then went back Friday with Matthew and spent another $180!!! My gracious! We did buy things we needed or have been wanting for a long time. We got a beach umbrella for $9, a 10x10 canopy tent for our backyard for $75, a blueray disc player for $70, 500 threadcount sheet set for $20, a
Jumbo box of pamper diapers for $12, a jumbo box of wipeys for $3.. I got Hudson Wade a 71 piece Lego block set for $7, some beach towels for $3 each. Those are some of the bigger things we found. I think I have a new addiction! I LOVE Dirt Cheap!!!
Hudson Wade has really begun to show his personality more! He is cooing and laughing more and more everyday! And he really is growing faster then weeds!! He is still just a tiny little angel but not as tiny as he was 8 weeks ago! His 2 month appointment is next week on May 4th and then the week after that he gets his 2 month set of shots! Ouch!!! Mommy hates it for him! I have a few tips from a good friend of mine to help make it a little less uncomfortable for him! Tylenol an hour before and have a bottle ready for immediately afterwards!
Here's a recent pic of him snoozing! He's dreaming of his mommy! ;)

Where is the Pause button?

Sometimes I am desperate for a pause button. I want to make everything stop and go crawl under my pillow and cry or either hop a flight to somewhere tropical and buy a margarita! Marriage and motherhood are sooooo incredibly rewarding and wonderful but sometimes they can be sooo incredibly and unbearably overwhelming. Most of the time one is better then the other! But when they are both making me feel like no matter what I do it isn't good enough, that's when I need to escape! When I can't make my husband happy and can't make my baby stop crying is when I want to trade lives with a true 21 year old college student who is making spring break plans with their besties! You know what I was doing on my spring break? BREASTFEEDING!
If only I would lean on Jesus more. It's not that I don't want to or don't trust Him. I just try to do it on my own. But then I end up going to the bathroom and just crying for 45 minutes wishing my nanny was still alive. His ways are so much better! The truth is that I can do nothing without Him and He gives me the ability to do everything that I can do! Being a wife and a mother at 21! I know I couldn't do it without Him so why do I try to during the toughest moments? I need to run to Him for serenity. I need to make Him my escape.
Lord, change my habits. I want you to be my Hiding Place away from the chaos that fills my life sometimes. I want YOU to be the One that dries my tears! I want YOU to be my margarita! I want my life to pause so that I can spend that much needed time with YOU!

Finally...

I've been trying to blog since Saturday! Between dirty dishes and laundry and two boys to take care of I am finally getting around to it! Matts birthday was alot of fun saturday! He was in heaven all day! It was exactly what he wanted!!
Today Hudson Wade and I ran some errands. Over the weekend I realized that he has grown into some more of his 0-3 month clothes. So today I put him in a new outfit that I have been dying to get him in! He looked so cute and it was perfect for our rainy, slightly cold weather!
I actually caught a smile on camera!!! Look out ladies! He's mine!

While we were out he had a very dirty diaper in which i had to BATH him as a result of!!! After his bath i took a picture because he was in such a good mood! He was playing on the couch and his head was moving so it's a tad bit blurry.

He is such a cutie! I have some friends who want to take some pictures of him to help build their photography portfolio. Im excited to see what they come up with!!
Next thing you know my little Hudson Wade will be on the cover of GQ! ha!

Birthday Bash!

Tomorrow is Matthew's 29th birthday! We are going Oak Grove to spend time with his family. Grilled hamburgers and homemade icecream! Yum! Well, atleast the icecream part anyway! I haven't been able to eat a hamburger since the first trimester of my pregnancy! They still make me sick to my stomach! We will see if I can overcome that tomorrow!
Anyway, Hudson Wade is wearing his Dodger's t-shirt for his daddy's birthday. We got Matt a pair of boots for his present. He needed some for the winter around here and also for the snow! We are going snow skiing with my family this winter and he doesn't have any boots for the snow! So, that's what Hudson Wade and I got him for his birthday! They are called Bogs! Supposed to be a really good brand!

Tomorrow we will be in OG all day. And, optimistically I am only bringing two bottles! The rest of the time I plan to breastfeed! I hope it works out okay! Lol! I know others probably won't like it very much that they can't feed him but I am really trying my hardest to nurse and give him breastmilk as much as possible! I just know that it is the best thing for him and I want to try to keep I going as long as I can! He has been doing wonderfully nursing and I hope that he does tomorrow too! The only thing I have concerns about is producing enough milk for the whole day. Today I ran out and had to give him formula. That's why I am bringing two bottles tomorrow.. For a safety net!
We will see how it goes!
Btw! Happy Friday!

Special Times and Special People

This weekend was sooo busy! I was in a wedding Saturday so all day Friday and Saturday were full of my matron of honor duties!! It was exhausting!
Here's a pic of my sis and I while waiting for the ceremony to begin. She was a bridesmaid too! A gorgeous one!!!

Saturday ended the Encounter Weekend for Shockwave youth in which a few special people were in town for. It was so nice to visit and see faces that I hardly ever get to see anymore. It was almost like a Shockwave reunion. Makes me miss those days even more! And Hudson Wade was so fun to show off! Of course everyone says that he is the spitting image of his daddy! Although, I'm beginning to see more of myself in him! Regardless, my baby is soo cute! And he loves church!

Here's a pic of him playing on his mat.

Ordinary Day

Today was pretty ordinary. I TRIED to sleep in with my baby but he refused! We got up and he was extra fussy all morning until we got in the car to leave. I had to take care of some stuff at school and he fell right to sleep just as I started to drive! He usually does!
We got home and took a SHORT nap before daddy came home.. SHORT! Lol.. Like.. Probably ten minutes!
Anyway, i go to the dr tmrw for my postpardum check up and I am reeaaalllyyyy hoping for a green light to start working out again. Right now I am only allowed to walk and I have been doing that faithfully everyday! Usually with Hudson Wade in his stroller but today I went without him while his daddy watched him.
I took some pics today while Matthew and I spent time admiring our sweet little baby boy. Nothing special... Just some face shots! He's such a cutie!

Easter Sunday and Openning Day!

Yesterday was Hudson Wade's first holiday, first Easter, and first time to church in our new worship center! He was such a cutie!!!

Today was the first Dodgers game of the season. I dressed HW up in his fan gear for daddy and he wanted to make sure we got a picture of our future Dodger pitcher! He was a little fussy but we managed to get a semi-decent one:

Now we are just going to enjoy the rest of the afternoon as a family! Maybe cut open our watermelon later! Yum!

Good Friday Family Time

Today my family came over. Dad helped Matt rebuild the gate next to our house and that took all afternoon. Mom, Lauren, Hudson Wade and I hungout inside and visited. Blake was there for for a few hours and then he went on a date!
Melissa and Justi drove in from Dallas for the weekend and she came over today for a few hours. It was so good to see her and even tho it's only been a few weeks since the last time she was here, it sill feels like forever ago! I miss her sooo much!
She got to spend some much needed time with her new favorite little boy in the whole world!

Tonight I was sitting on the couch playing with my little angel and he was beginning to coo and learn his voice! He smiled and grinned bigger then I've ever seen him grin before! It was just about the best part of my whole day!
